When things don't go to plan, we don't want it to compromise your freedom or quality of life. That's why we provide cover to keep you moving when you need it most.
We've put together a clear list to show you what you're covered for and any restrictions in place. When you use your scooter or powered wheelchair, we've got you covered.
What's covered
Repairs
We'll fix any damage that stops your scooter or powered wheelchair working safely.
Replacement keys
If your keys are lost or stolen within the British Isles, we'll replace them up to three times during your lease.
Fire and theft
We'll pay for the loss or damage to your scooter or powered wheelchair caused by fire, theft or attempted theft.
Breakdown recovery
If you're not able to use your scooter or powered wheelchair as a result of a breakdown or accident, Motability Assist are on hand for support. They are available to help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Legal liability
Up to £2 million legal liability cover for any damage caused by your scooter or powered wheelchair.
Legal expenses
Up to £25,000 for uninsured loss recovery and legal expenses.
Travelling abroad
Up to 30 days EU cover when using your scooter or powered wheelchair in a 12 month period.
Accessories and adaptations
Permanently fitted adaptations or accessories supplied with the scooter or powered wheelchair by your dealer which are required to enable you to use the product.
What's not covered
Personal belongings
You'll need to arrange your own insurance for personal items such as coats, bags and walking sticks. One option may be to extend your household insurance cover.
Scratches and superficial damage
Damage that doesn't stop you using your scooter or powered wheelchair safely and effectively is not covered.
Unauthorised and uninsured users
Only the person named on your insurance Policy Schedule is insured to use your scooter or powered wheelchair. Other people may move your scooter or powered wheelchair, as long as you give permission, but cannot drive it.
