Can I have more than two drivers?
With a Motability Contract Hire lease you can propose up to two
drivers free of charge, one of whom may be the Hirer. Under
certain circumstances, a third driver may be included for which
an additional premium will be payable.
A charge of £219 is payable to provide cover for a third
driver for the full period of your 3 year lease, however if you
have less than 3 years remaining on your lease, this charge may
be lower. Please contact our Customer Services Department who
will confirm the charge applicable to you.
Please note however, a third driver may only be included for
the period you have remaining on your policy.

Is the Hirer automatically insured as a
driver?
The hirer is not automatically permitted to drive the vehicle
If the Hirer wishes to drive the vehicle they must ensure that
their name appears under the permitted drivers section of the
Certificate of Motor Insurance.

Is there a charge to change the
permitted drivers?
You are allowed to have two nominated drivers, one of whom may
be the Hirer. You are able to amend either of these drivers with
no additional fee at any time by contacting RSA Motability
Customer Services Department on Freephone number 0500 37 37 37.

Can I include a temporary change
of driver?
If you wish to temporarily add or change a driver on your
policy, you will need to call our Customer Services Department
on Freephone number 0500 37 37 37.
You will need to make sure that you have the following
details available:

Driving licence details of the proposed driver, including: |

- Type of licence held (e.g. full
UK) - Date passed driving test
- Details of any accidents or losses, (irrespective of
blame or if a claim was made or not) in the last 5 years for
the proposed driver
- Details of any motoring convictions or fixed penalty
offences in the last 5 years for the proposed driver.

Please note that the cover is not effective until you are in
possession of a valid Certificate of Motor Insurance or
temporary cover note, listing the name of your new driver.

Do I need to tell you if my medical
condition changes?
No - providing your GP has passed you to drive and the DVLA are
aware of your condition and have issued the appropriate driving
licence, you do not need to tell us.

Do I need a Green Card for the
Republic of Ireland or the European Union?
No - These are included in your vehicle cover and a Green Card
is not required. However you should take your Certificate of
Motor Insurance as evidence of cover.
Motability advise that you obtain European breakdown cover before you
take your car abroad. RAC European Motoring Assistance is available
as an optional addition to Motability Assist customers at specially
discounted rates.
Am I insured to drive my friend's
vehicle under this insurance?
No. You can only drive your Motability car and any vehicle provided
by or on behalf of Motability Operations in direct replacement of it.

My friend has a fully comprehensive
policy, can they drive the Motability vehicle?
No - only those drivers named on your Certificate of Motor
Insurance may drive your Motability vehicle.

In some circumstances this may be agreed, for further details

0500 373737. In certain circumstances documentary
evidence or copies of driving licences may be required.

Am I entitled to any no claim
discount or bonus?
Motability does not provide for any no claims discount or
bonuses. However, RSA can provide a letter confirming your claim
history on the Scheme if required.

What happens if I lose my
Certificate of Motor Insurance?
Please contact RSA Motability Customer Services Department on
Freephone number 0500 373737 who will be happy to issue
you a replacement Certificate.
